Our Estate
Real. Better.

First-class quality in every respect
…that’s our promise to you. The IMLAUER estate Schloss Pichlarn plays an important role in this. We became a producer ourselves with our estate. From the organic eggs to our own springs and the greenhouse with our own herbs, our own vegetables and fruit: this is quality as we define it. Authentic. Real. Better
The first representatives of our estate will greet you even before you arrive at the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn: lush fruit trees adorn the green meadows along the driveway. Pear, plum, apple – some of them bearing old fruit varieties. Many are already there, but many more will follow. The 250 chickens have been there for a long time. They enjoy the wide, open spaces around the 5-star hotel in their mobile chicken coop. Every egg on your breakfast table, in every tasty dish or juicy cake comes from these happy chickens. “Bee happy” is also on the agenda at Pichlarn: our own bee colonies produce the finest honey and contribute to the preservation of our nature as pollinating insects.

Greenhouse
A project close to our hearts
The IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn is delighted to be working with Lebenshilfe Ennstal as part of a socially committed cooperation project – a long-held wish of Georg Imlauer that came true in 2025.
Aromatic herbs, crisp vegetables, fresh salads and edible flowers thrive in the Pichlarner greenhouse under the loving care of the Lebenshilfe gardeners. Together with our head chef Gottfried Prall and his team, the highest quality is ensured here – from the seedling to the culinary creation.
This is how we bring inclusion and the freshness of the Enns Valley to your plate.
Authentic. Tasteful. Social
Our bees
Little helpers with a big impact
The IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn estate is home to ten beehives, lovingly tended by a regional beekeeper. The busy bees collect nectar in the surrounding nature, making a valuable contribution to biodiversity and the pollination of our fruit trees.
The honey from our organic bees is a true taste of Pichlarn—locally produced, untreated, and certified organic in accordance with the EU Organic Regulation (Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007). Whether at the breakfast table or in select dishes, our homemade honey brings the essence of the Enns Valley straight to your plate—with great flavor and a clear conscience.
Organic chickens
Fresh eggs from our own farm
Around 250 organic chickens live on our farm in a mobile chicken wagon with a spacious outdoor enclosure. The animals enjoy fresh air every day, plenty of exercise and can decide for themselves when to go outside – species-appropriate husbandry as it should be.
The organic eggs from our free-range chickens are produced using certified organic farming methods in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/848 and are certified by Austria Bio Garantie (AT-BIO-302).
The fresh organic eggs from our hens cover all the needs of our hotel kitchen – from breakfast eggs to homemade egg liqueur. And best of all: our guests can also take the eggs home with them and continue to enjoy a piece of Pichlarn quality.
You’re welcome to visit the chickens anytime—it’s a wonderful experience and offers a special glimpse into the work that goes on at our farm.
Mountain spring water
The taste of nature
Thanks to our six on-site springs with treated mountain spring water, the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn is a member of the Best Water Hotel program run by BWT AG.
In collaboration with BWT AG in Mondsee , we have decided to stop using conventional mineral water bottles in our restaurants and instead mineralize our own premium-quality water using state-of-the-art technology from BWT. This reduces packaging waste and minimizes logistical effort (specific CO2 savings are calculated based on delivery routes).
Our composting machine is a further step in the circular economy. This is used to produce humus from kitchen waste within 24 hours.
Electric drive
and photovoltaics
A 420-kWp photovoltaic system is installed on the roof of our event hall. To meet any additional district heating needs, Georg Imlauer plans to have biomass from the hotel’s own forests processed in the future. Even today, the 5-star hotel is heated exclusively with district heating from the regional biomass plant Biowärme Irdning.
We also rely on renewable energy for our vehicles and equipment. We now purchase only electric company cars and golf carts, and even handheld equipment such as lawn mowers and chainsaws are electric. You can charge your own electric car at the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn at one of 12 charging stations.
