THE PLACE TO ENJOY

FRESHLY HARVESTED FROM OUR OWN CULTIVATION

For several years now, we have been enriching our cuisine at the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn with freshly harvested herbs, crisp salads and selected vegetables from our own garden. For the best taste directly on your plate.

In the middle of the eastern castle grounds, our lovingly tended greenhouse extends over around 300 m². greenhouse – a green refuge where aromatic plants thrive under optimal conditions from March to November.

Our greenhouse stands for our philosophy: quality starts with the origin. That’s why we focus on short distances, genuine freshness and natural cultivation. A little piece of nature – right here in our hotel.

Seasonal ingredients are harvested daily and find their way onto your plate in our kitchen – processed with care and passion into culinary delights.

Real. Tasteful. Social

Now, in cooperation with the Lebenshilfe Ennstal a project has been launched that places the care and cultivation of the produce from our greenhouse in the highly trained hands of Lebenshilfe gardeners.

A total of seven clients of Lebenshilfe Ennstal are currently involved in this project and take turns coming to the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn from Monday to Friday with their carers to look after the greenhouse.

Together with our head chef Gottfried Prall and his team, attention is paid to the highest quality – from the seedling to the culinary creation. This is how we bring inclusion and the freshness of the Enns Valley to your plate.

With a love of nature

Some of the Lebenshilfe gardeners come from the horticultural horticulture in Raumberg-Gumpenstein just a few minutes’ drive from the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn. Since 2001, Lebenshilfe Ennstal has been practicing natural horticulture there.

The work in the greenhouse at the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn is planned and carried out independently and with great personal responsibility by specialist assistants from Lebenshilfe Ennstal together with the customers. Herbs, cress, spices, strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes, vegetables, as well as flowers and currants in the outdoor area thrive here.

We are delighted about the new cooperation with the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn. This will enable us to create further 5-star jobs for our customers ♥, whom we support and accompany on their life’s journey, combining the idea of sustainability and the “social something” in a wonderful way. I look forward with confidence to a “flourishing” and long-term collaboration that has already got off to such a great start.
Andreas Steer, Managing Director of Lebenshilfe Ennstal

♥ Lebenshilfe refers to people with disabilities who use its services as “customers”. This term emphasizes their active role: they help decide what they need and want. In this way, people meet at eye level – with respect and self-determination.

The gardeners at Lebenshilfe Ennstal are also delighted with the new project.
We asked them about their work in the greenhouse, their favorite jobs and their favorite vegetables.

(Project manager)

“It takes a lot of intuition, patience and love for nature and people for everything to thrive – that’s exactly what I like about my work. It’s a great place to work that we have here! I also particularly appreciate the good cooperation with Simone, the gardener at the Schlosshotel, because we can share our experiences and learn from each other – just like the cooperation with the whole team at the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn, because we feel that our work is appreciated.”

Visit our Pichlarner greenhouse and the Lebenshilfe gardeners

Every Thursday at 10:00 a.m., the Lebenshilfe Ennstal team looks forward to your visit to our Pichlarn greenhouse (duration approx. 30 minutes). In the greenhouse you will learn exciting facts about this social project in general and the work of the Lebenshilfe gardeners in Pichlarn in particular. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to explore the greenhouse on your own and taste the fresh herbs for yourself.

Our Pichlarner greenhouse is of course open to you daily for free viewing.
