THE RIESNERALM IN SUMMER

The Riesneralm is a paradise for all those who want to enjoy summer in the mountains and a real CoolCation. Whether you are looking for fresh mountain air, spectacular views or a relaxing day trip – here you will find everything a vacationer’s heart desires. At around 1,800 m above sea level, refreshing activities, magnificent mountain panoramas and wonderful nature experiences await you.

It takes just over 20 minutes by car from the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn. The journey is pleasant and uncomplicated, and the ascent with the modern chairlift facilities already offers the first impressive panoramic views.

Close to the summit dream

Once you reach the Riesneralm, everyone can fulfill their summit dream, as the hiking trail up to the 1,922 m high summit is also easily accessible for less experienced hikers. The trail also has a special feature: a summit barefoot trail.

Experience a whole new way of hiking and feel the path with your bare feet. A total of 19 stations lead over spruce cones, wood chips, bark mulch, mud and earth troughs, granite slabs, torrent scree, wood in all its variations and the natural alpine soil to the summit.

Here, hiking becomes an experience for all the senses. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with magnificent views and summit bliss.

Back at the mountain station, you can enjoy a cool dip in the unique summit pool in the world. With a pleasant 26° water temperature, a magnificent panoramic view awaits you! Shower and changing cabins are available, and if you don’t have any swimwear with you, you can buy some on site.

Right at the middle station between the two chairlifts, you can learn lots of interesting facts about the natural world of the Styrian mountains on a herbal nature trail with 14 stations and a wild bee farm.

Our reception team will be happy to advise you and help you plan your excursion! We will be happy to provide you with a lovingly prepared packed lunch for your excursion. Please just let us know at reception the evening before – that way we can make sure you start your day well equipped.

The chairlifts and attractions on the Riesneralm are open in summer from June 27 to September 8, 2025, from Friday to Monday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased directly at the ticket office.
